The “Trump Situation,” Google and the Power to Silence

The recent information leaked to Project Veritas about Google and how it “shapes” news finally gives credence to what we have known to be true for years. Google is a political machine and has an agenda that will not be stopped.

In part of the video, Jen Gennai, Head of Responsible Innovation states:

We all got screwed over in 2016, again it wasn’t just us, it was, the people got screwed over, the news media got screwed over, like, everybody got screwed over so we’re rapidly been like, what happened there and how do we prevent it from happening again.”

“We’re also training our algorithms, like, if 2016 happened again, would we have, would the outcome be different?”

Google clearly has an agenda and is willing to go to great lengths to make sure President Donald Trump or other conservative leaders like him do not get elected again.

One other concerning element of the video was the lack of accountability and responsibility expressed by Google leadership toward Congress – going so far as to suggest that no matter how many times the company’s executives are called in front of Congress they “are not changing.”

The fallout from this video has been drastic. YouTube pulled the Project Veritas Video, Google Executives have deleted some of their social media accounts, and President Trump has entered the fray saying the Tech Giants should be sued for their bias.

For years we have been told by tech giants and Google in particular that bias did not exist – not in the algorithms or within the company’s ranks – yet here we have proof that Google has perpetually tried to control the narrative and influence decision making.

Google must be held accountable for their actions, they have a responsibility to go back to their founding motto and “Do No Harm”
