FOI Letter to House Judiciary Committee on Conservative Censorship

Yesterday, Free Our Internet’s Executive Director, Christie-Lee McNally, sent a letter to members of the House Judiciary Committee ahead of today’s hearing “Facebook, Google and Twitter: Examining the Content Filtering Practices of Social Media Giants.”

In the letter, McNally highlights how Silicon Valley giants like Facebook and Twitter have operated in the shadows for over a decade without baseline protections to ensure the free flow of information online, leading to the active censorship of conservative voices.

McNally notes the importance of freedom of speech in her letter, urging members of Congress – especially those that sit on the House Judiciary Committee – to review social media companies behavior and hold them accountable for their actions.

To get an idea of what we are up against here are the many billions Big Tech’s elite class took home just last year:

  • Amazon: $177.8 Billion
  • Google (Alphabet): $110.8 Billion
  • Facebook: $40.6 Billion
  • Twitter: $2.4 Billion
