Free Our Internet Statement on Senate Democrats Launching Congressional Review Act Process

Below is a statement from Christie-Lee McNally, Executive Director of Free Our Internet, on Senate Democrats launching the Congressional Review Act process trying to nullify the FCC’s vote to roll back Title II regulations:

Senator Markey’s CRA trying to overturn the FCC’s roll back of oppressive, Obama-era Title II rules is bad for consumers. This legislation would exempt giants like Facebook and Google from any obligation to protect consumers online, even though they have a proven track record of blocking and censoring the content we want to see. Congress should pass real consumer internet protection legislation that will protect us against the edge companies acting as today’s gatekeepers to the internet.
