Checking in with Howard Dean on Internet openness and free speech

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from the erstwhile presidential candidate and onetime DNC chief, so we thought we’d check in and see how he’s doing. But first a quick retrospective:

2004: Howard Dean on free speech

It’s not for me to judge what goes too far. We have a long tradition of free speech in this country. And as far as I can tell, it hasn’t done any damage to people — except for people who are damaged, anyway.

2012: Howard Dean’s Democracy for America on an open internet…

“Our organization of deeply engaged members and volunteers would not exist without a free and open internet.”

2017: Howard Dean on free speech…

Yep… Still nutty
